At its best, the Canary Island Ivy is the glossiest, biggest and most extrovert of all the ivies.
It is cold hardy and grows well in most areas, and is used extensively all over the world as a groundcover. Hedera canariensis is a vigorous climber with bright, glossy, green leaves and smooth, deep red leaf stalks.
Please be aware that Ivy are very vigorous plants, which must be controlled by regular pruning. Also, Once attached to a masonry wall the clinging roots are difficult to remove. It is a vigorous evergreen climber, which supports itself by means of aerial roots.
