This climbing Hydrangea is a deciduous plant so during the dormant season autumn winter it will lose all its leaves shooting new growth in the spring.
Hydrangea anomala subsp. petiolaris is a self clinging, deciduous climbing Hydrangea that does well on shaded walls, or even tree trunks.
It produces a cascade of greenish-white lace-cap flowers in summer. The flower heads are retained and turn brown in winter. Leaves are dark green, serrated and heart shaped.
Very slow growing, it could eventually grow up to 10 metres. Protect from afternoon sun.
