Ice Queen is a new release for 2018 that combines the best of both parents: Magnolia ‘Cameo’ and Magnolia campbellii ‘Mount Pirongia’ .
It has resulted in a medium to large sized white campbellii in the ilk of Mt Pirongia with well rounded tepals grouped in the classical cup and saucer form, and the hardy constitution and free flowering disposition of Cameo. The original cross was done in 2006 and the parent tree is 11 years old and has reached about 6 metres tall.
