Santolina chamaecyparissus or Cotton Lavender is a small, aromatic, evergreen low-spreading shrub with a compact habit.
The leaves are oblong, silver-grey, and divided into tiny segments.
The dainty, button-like yellow flowers are produced on long stalks in summer and create a spectacular display, especially when planted en masse.
Great for borders edging and pots, with the added attraction of waving gently in the breeze. Grows to around 60x90cm.
Thrives in dry to medium, well drained soils and needs a full sun position.
