A slow growing native tree that maintains its juvenile, pyramidal form for up to 50 years. Narrow leathery leaves are an attractive bronze-green colour. Smooth grey bark turns scaly when mature.
Adult trees form a straight-trunked stately round headed tree. Grows best in rich, fertile, moist, well-draining soil and to approximately 10m in 30 years. An excellent statement tree, but allow for some room as they can grow eventually to 30m+
