Platt’s Black has remained one of the most popular flaxes for many years because it has richly coloured, purple black foliage which doesn’t fade with age. But, as with all the coloured foliage flaxes, it develops and retains its very best leaf colourings when given fertiliser and the old foliage trimmed off.
