Pretty, rounded buds gradually open to form very large, full, cupped rosettes, the outer petals recurving back slightly. Their colour is crimson at first, gradually changing to an unusual shade of rich, deep pink. The petals have attractive, silvery reverses. A rather upright shrub, with a graceful, bushy growth. David Austin, 2006. 125x125cm.

Megginch Castle in Perth, Scotland, is the 15th century family home of the late Baroness Strange, who was President of the War Widows' Association. She was known for her love of flowers and her rose garden.

David Austin Roses English Roses combine the form of the flower, the fragrance and general character of an Old Rose with a wide range of colour and the repeat flowering, of a modern Hybrid Tea or Floribunda Rose; they also retain much of the busy, shrubby growth of the old varieties. All David Austin roses have a collective style and reflect one man’s vision. All have beautiful blooms and in most cases wonderful fragrance held on graceful attractive shrubs. A garden of these outstanding roses is hard to beat for sheer exuberance of flower and fragrance.
