Lampranthus Mauve Explosion is a new selection of the iceplant, an exceptionally heat and dry tolerant ground cover perennial that is also suitable for coastal gardens.
Lampranthus 'Mauve Explosion' has pale lavender young flowers which mature to a deeper mauve. The key feature of the 'Explosion' series is their extra dense flower coverage, forming a mat of eye-watering colour. The effect of the plant is to form a living mulch suppressing weeds, and ideal for those difficult garden spots that are simply too hostile for many plants.
