This Snail Trap from On Guard is the safe way to trap and kill snails and slugs. It protects veggie patches, seedlings and vulnerable plants from snail and slug damage.

On Guard, Snail Traps can be used in gardens allotments to protect vegetable patches, seedlings and vulnerable plants from damage by slugs and snails. The traps are reusable treating over 60 square metres for the full growing season.

Directions For Use: 
For best results place traps at time of sowing before plants are damaged by slugs and snails.

  • Dig a hole the size of the trap base in the area most affected by snails.
  • Remove lid and place trap in the ground ensuring side opening is above ground level.
  • Place Bait inside the trap, within 2cm of trap rim ( see trapping tips)
  • Put the lid back in place and make sure it's secure.
  • Check on the trap regularly and dispose of contents.
  • Once Empty, rinse and replenish bait.

Trapping Tips:
Try some of the following methods of baiting, all of which can be safely used with On Guard Snail Traps.

  • Yeast Bait: Mix together yeast sachet with water and place in trap.
  • Beer Bait: Simply pour beer into the trap.
  • Honey Yeast Bait: Mix 1 tablespoon of brewers yeast, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of cooking oil and 350ml of water.
  • Beer Batter Bait: Mix 2 Tablespoons of flour with enough beer to make a thick batter.
  • Grape Juice.
  • Mixing rum extract with water.
  • Use Soapy water or grease the inside they can't climb out. 
  • Lettuce, cabbage, turnips, and sliced potatoes are also a favourite.
